Just watched a news story about a group of Christians who are raising money for a series of billboards around the country that say, "It's OK to say Merry Christmas!" and it is signed with the name Jesus.

This is in response to the many people and businesses who use Happy Holidays as opposed to Merry Christmas. I won't even get into all the pagan roots of the current winter holiday season that the Roman Catholic church adapted to fit it's newly endorsed state religion and all the elements that we have allowed into our lives. I leave that to those who are interested enough to pursue on their own.
I will say this however...
In a time of year when families are hungry, out of work and struggling...
In a time of year when homeless men and women are living in the cold, struggling with their addictions or just have run into a tough time...
In a time of year when many will commit suicide because of how lonely they are or despondent over a season that is nothing but a bad time with bad memories...
In a time of year when orphans and those in prison have no one to care for them...
...are there not better ways to spend our time and resources??
If you are offended because someone doesn't say Merry Christmas you might want to go to The Voice of the Martyr's website and see how bad other Christian's have it around the world! Hell...you might want to donate that billboard money to a group that is actually trying to help those who are really persecuted for their faith instead of this petty whining.
It is unbecoming of us who bear the name of Christ to be upset over our little feelings being hurt over the words Merry Christmas. When did we become such an easily offended people? Is this why Jesus died? So we could have our rights?
Shame on us!
Happy Holidays!
