Video games have come a long way since the days of Pong from Atari. During the beginning days of video games everyone was excited just to be playing a game on the TV. Not much thought was given to what types of games were being playing; it was new and exciting so we were addicted. We thought Atari had the market on fun, but not anymore! When playing video games such as Grand Theft Auto and Halo the graphics are so real you seem to be absorbed into the action and lose your sense of time and reality. When we were playing Pong we didn’t have the impulse to blur our reality and our fictional game world.
One question on so many parents minds today, “Is that game hurting my child in anyway?”
As parents we worry about everything including the ramifications from friends to video games, that’s our job. There are two things that some parents forget to discuss with their children:

The internet is a vast community with millions of opportunities for children, teens, and adults to play games and to be someone else. Some of the games you need to pay monthly, some a one-time fee, and others are free. Free games consist of RPG (Role Playing Game), MMORPG ( Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), arcade games, puzzles, and so much more; here is one example of a free game on the internet (www.net-games.biz), There are also games you have to pay for on a monthly basis or for a onetime fee (https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com),so many different types out there. There are children games (www.paulysplayhouse.com), teen games (www.battleon.com) and (www.runescape.com), and adult games (use your imagination). Most items that need a warning (ESRB – Entertainment Software Rating Board) do come with them, but there are a lot that do not have warnings or a rating system. When it comes to games on the World Wide Web and ESRB is NOT always a present.

My name is Michelle I am the proud parent of a little over half dozen children and one grandchild. I have been in the educational field for over 20 years dealing with various types of children and thier behaviors.
The resources and experience that I have will help in answering different aspects of a childs' difficulties and mildstones with Christian values. Sometimes teaching children about being a Christian is a hard road to travel, but with this blog I want to provide you with different techniques on raising your children in a positive light.
