Como estas mis amigos! This is The Alpha Jan and I am a New Kingdom Pluralist, Universalist on values, rationalists, debator, writer, and author. I am known as the "Outcast of Society" seeing it for what it is instead of trying to be a part of any genre of society causing arrogance towards the rest of it. I hope you enjoy reading my blog. It isn't exactly a rant but an informative for everyone to take. Until then, I hope that you realize God doesn't give you what you want but the opportunity to pursue what you want as well as need.

The difference in what makes a person good or bad is not what they are doing, but the true intention behind what they are doing.
Krysalis Sanguine Mauro (From the Novel Senzafine)

I just gave you all a very special insight on one of my future planned novels. Why I am only on my second novel as in publication. The book is titled Tourniquet and will be available on December 25th this year. Anyways, I am holding the fort down since Patrick is on vacation for eight days on a cruise to the Caribbean Area. He and his wife booked it and they are like the Lonely Island and T-Pain. Anyways, because of boss man's absence, I'll actually be posting up articles this weekend too which is a rarity but nevertheless, I'll do it.

For today, I am going to add to my blog which I really don't think I do much of. This is a special entry because of the debating discussion around it. True there are hardly any debates about this topic since everyone seems to like to debate both abortion and gay marriage these days but it's something that I thought very thought-provoking and exposing of a person's true character. To this day, only a select few were able to figure out this topic on a philosophical or sociological level. So the topic is, "What makes a person either a good person or a bad person?" It's quite a simple question but it seems that answer is complex because people make it way too complex. I personally believe that the best solution is always the simplest one but people overcomplicate the problems. Sometimes, the best solution isn't the most convenient solution and thus why the simplest and best solution is sometimes the most unpopular solution. Back on the topic, do you know what makes a person either a good person or a bad person? Actually I think I already opened this article up with the answer by using the quote from my book in the near-future I plan to publish. So instead of leaving the question's answer up in the air, I'll explain my personal and sociological view of what makes a person either good or bad.

Good evening everyone! The Alpha Jan here and I hope you're doing well. We are almost halfway through the work week so tomorrow will be a Happy Hump Day! Yay us! Anyways, today's blog is one of two special blogs I am putting up for today. For the past eight years or so, I have been to many debates, discussions, and groups on philosophy, politics, current affairs, religion, ethics, morals, and even universal values. Within that time, I always take everything in because there is only one corner of the Universe you are certain you can approve and that is yourself. I follow many other Universal Rules too when it comes to what I learn and experience but I'll talk about that in my next blog entry. Today, I am talking about knowledge, as in knowledge in general. You see, knowledge per say intelligence can be summed up the best by how my favorite ficticious character at the time Bruno Rontini stated it in the novel Time Must Have a Stop. Near the very end of Chapter 26, he says these important paragraphs and I am going to share it with you.

Explicity or implicitly, men of genius express their knowledge in reality. But they themselves very rarely act on their knowledge. Why not? Because all their energy and attention are absorbed by the work of composition. They're concerned with writing, not with acting or being. But because they're only concerned with writing about knowledge, they prevent themselves from knowing more.

Knowledge is proportionate to being. You know in virtue of who you are; and what you are depends on three factors: what you've inherited, what your surroundings have done to you, and what you have chosen to do with your surroundings and your inheritance. A man of genius inherits an unusual capacity to see into ultimate reality and to express what he sees. If his surroundings are reasonably good, he'll be able to exercise his powers. but if he spends all his energies on writing and doesn't attempt to modify his inherited and acquired being in the light of what he knows, then he can never get to increase his knowledge. On the contrary, he'll know progressively less instead of more.

The previous two paragraphs I have written from the novel Time Must Have a Stop expresses the two main reasons why anyone and everyone would increase their knowledge and I am going to talk about the two in this blog right now.

Universal Values

Hello everyone! The Alpha Jan here with the final article of the week. I hope you all enjoyed the book reviews and the other article I did this week. I'll try to keep up with more interesting stuff but this one is a little more personal for me. Now if you read anything about me in my bio page, then you know I am a lot of things that most people would not understand per say I am an Anarchist. I am a rationalist. I am a Bright-Green Environmentalist. I am a New Kingdom Pluralist. Now the one thing I am going to take about is that I am really big in Universal Values. This means I can either be a Universalist or even an Axiologist. To me, this is very important and maybe why a lot of religious or "faithful" people turn an eyebrow up because most people who are religion-driven are moral absolutionist. Moral absolutes can be used for justification and is used a lot through religion. Ahem Catholics! So you want to know what Universal Values are?

universalvalue

Now to continue this, I must stress what makes a value, well Universal. There are two ways a value can be Universal and they are 1.) if everyone finds it valuable or if 2.) the value could be universal when all people have reason to believe it has value. Really deep ain't it? Anyways, the first way is the method brought about by Isaish Berlin's understanding of the term. The second way is Amartya Sen's understanding of the term. There have been many people throughout history who were great leaders thriving on Universal Values including Mahatma Ghandi, Mother Theresa, and of course Jesus Christ. Actually the three I mentioned above show great example with the second way of Universal Value. I'll use the quote coming from Mahatma Ghandi about non-violence. This is one of his strongest and most respected quotes to this day and a lot of people who respect Ghandi, like I do, realize the importance of Universal Value in this quote or better yet, the understanding of what he meant explaining the universal value.

All people have reason to value non-violence, not that all people currently value non-violence.

Happy Birthday Sega Dreamcast!

segadreamcast

Hello everyone and welcome to a very special and heartbreaking article about my favorite system of all time, the Sega Dreamcast. I was one of the few who were lucky to recieve this unbelievable and underappreciated system. In a way, the Dreamcast was doomed in the beginning due to the poor choices Sega made with their system before this one, the Sega Saturn. Now take note that the Sega Saturn was an awesome system too and more powerful than the original Playstation by Sony. Why the Sega Dreamcast is even more powerful than the Sony Playstation 2. The downfall from the Sega Saturn came from its breaking-in. First off, Sega announced the Sega Saturn at the very first E3 which I got to attend and the release date for that system was immediate as in we are announcing and now they are on sale. Very cool tactic that backfired. Why? First off, there was hardly any third-party support at the time so the games were limited. This really pissed off a lot of third-party gaming companies and one, which is actually the  most dominant in North America, would show their anger and rage when the Sega Dreamcast set out. Next, the Sony Playstation was advertised at $299 when the Sega Saturn was $399. Back then, graphics weren't as big as now so price was a big deal. Nobody would have bought a video game for $60 back then unlike now.

This backlash of the Sega Saturn carried over to the Sega Dreamcast. However, Sega was more determined to make this system the best they could ever make. They provided so many games with the release including the most famous game on the series, Sonic Adventure. I love Sonic Adventure and it is totally awesome that they brought this game out. It was so much fun and made the Dreamcast a stable system. Also, since Sega did excellent with their advertising, everything started to look up. On opening day, or release date, 500,00 units were sold which was the biggest sale within the first week of a system at the time. This is also good since the Sega Dreamcast was the first system to be out before the Sony Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube and in all respects was better than all three systems for what it provided as a whole. This system is also the system that pioneered online gaming even though it was through a modem. Nevertheless, the Sega Dreamcast was thought to be the one to save Sega from its pitfalls but it would prove nevertheless not so true.

Hinder Progression

DG and I were talking about the advances and progression of the United States's society or lack there of one night. It was during her birthday and it was also the one where we actually stayed in instead of head out and destroyed anything. Now I thought the two things we discussed during that time were an excellent means on why progression here in the United States is hindered but there are more intricate reasons. My sociological insight on why people attain knowledge is another one and I'll talk about that in another article. However, in the movies, the view for what we thought we would have progressed to by now is well not up to par to our imagination as of yet. We thought there would be hoverboards, holigrams, and flying cars by now. Ever seen the movie Back to the Future II? Well that was predicted to be 2004? Where is everything? I can easily say that it is our hinder of progression. Once again, there are two things that organizations or groups of thought that hinder our progression. So in this entry, I am talking about those two.

By the way, I hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend. I know a lot of you got the day off but a lot of you celebrated Labor Day by doing labor as always. Are you ready for the entry now? I hope you are and you'll learn the two after the jump. Also, take note that neither one is more dominant than they other. They are both equal in their guilt or should I say different in intensity from person to person.
