I like my video games like I like my martini, shaken and not stirred on the rocks with no miniature umbrellas! (Insert smiley face here!) Anyways, there are multiple links on multiple gaming sites including major gaming review sites have started to post up a blog per se about the correlative between video game and booze. The Drunken Moogle is a website – mostly a blog – that has the Drunken Moogle (who I will call them for now) talking about the relevance on the forementioned topic.

Topics include tumblers and shot glasses decorated with video game art like a grog mug inspired by the World of Warcraft Series or shot glasses inspired by the Metal Gear Solid Series. There are just loads and loads of video game inspired drinking products like shot glasses, mugs, shakers, and such in usually the Drunken Moogle will scour the internet for sites that makes this awesomeness and even video game inspired drinking games like the one based off of Mario where the person who falls into a hole has to take a shot.

My favorite part about the site is easily all the alcoholic drinks made and inspired by video games. There are a lot on this site spanning from the Mega Man Series to Sonic the Hedgehog Series to even The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Not only does the Drunken Moogle post up the concoctions he makes but also those submitted by his readers. Here are some of the drinks I found very interesting on the blog.

These drinks are of course inspired by the Resident Evil (Bio-Hazard) Series. However, these shots seem to be more based off of the movie version of the virus and the antidote since I don’t recall seeing this type of design in the video games but I do clearly remember it in the movies. It is also fitting to show this shot off since the fourth installment in the movie series is coming soon to theaters.

The shots above are known as Mudkip which is a pokemon in the Pokemon Series. I find this both cute and awesome since the Drunken Moogle does not discriminate between hardcore video games and casual video games in his drink-making. These shots actually look like you can easily pull them off without alcohol for parties for your kids as well as younger siblings that are “not of age” and “really don’t care” about the alcohol content part. However, it would be epic to post about how someone got wasted or lost their cognition to a mudkip.

These are shots I know my boss Isaac would go for – if he drinks I mean. He is a huge Metal Gear Solid fan and I am sure you could tell by the numerous skits he does in DLC based off the series in which he plays Solid Snake. Anyways, these row of shots are called Revolver Ocelot who is one of the coolest villains in the series so having a shot series (not just a shot, but a series) based off this character is awesome.

The above is a drink inspired by the Metroid Series in which it actually looks like a Metroid. Now if you don’t know what a metroid looks like, it’s this green jellyfish looking alien with red eyes in the middle that drains energy like crazy. What is cool is one of the metroids considers Samus Aran its mama and that made me very angry the freakin’ Mother Brain killed it. Bite me Mother Brain for killing the metroid that thought Samus was its mama. Anyways, this is the only drink so far that has fruit in it and it is well-garnished to look as such. Also, I love the Metroid Series though I haven’t played the Metroid Prime Series yet. I do however wanna try the game developed by Team Ninja though.

Now this shot above is known as the Poison Arrow and I found it was inspired by the Elder Scrolls Series. I saw it and knew what the ingredients were to make such a cool twirly effect. Now it really is kinda generic calling this a poison arrow but the drink is so unique-looking it just took my attention. Not to mention, the Elder Scrolls Series is an awesomes series to play too though I haven’t played it in a long time.

There are a lot more drinks to be shown but I won’t load this article up with them. Check out the Drunken Moogle’s Website and not only will you see all I have wrote above but all the other drinks he has make AND the ingredients and procedure in how to make them. And yes, I purposely did not list the ingredients or how to make them so you can really follow the jump to his site. Trust me, it’s awesome especially if you want to impress your video game fanatic friends that are alcoholics too.
