NIghtmares and Dreamscapes is a short story collection. When you pick up a such a book, it can be like diving through pools of hot and cold water.."Liked this story...hated this one..."
But the good thing about Stephen King is that you can be assured of one thing: a long on-going 'weird.' Lol! If all you knew were the story titles, you would know this book is fun. Oh, here's my favorite title: "It Grows on You." Lol! Oh, 'cmon, guess what happened in THAT story!
Sometimes the title aren't descriptive at all...I mean, who would have thought, 'Popsy' is about the one kid on earth you BETTER NOT kidnap?
There are stories from the deep, frozen heart of pure vengeance, like Dolan's Cadillac where the MC carefully hunts down the filthy rich gangster who killed his wife. When he finally nailed the guy, I must admit, I smiled.
He does have a non-fiction essay in the mix called, 'Head Down.' Since it's non-fiction and about Little League, I didn't think I'd like it and read it last, thought about skipping, it, glad I didn't. It's written with graet heart. You'll enjoy it.
I would take this book and read it one story at a time...as if you could read two at a time...But I mean, just take your time, enjoy. It's a very fun book.
