A lady asked me and a group of other women from our church to come pray for her house.  She said things had weighed on her about it for sometime and she wanted it blessed.

Happy to do it, we went Tuesday night.  Aside from praying together in the beginning, there's no format. It's what God inspires in people.  Interesting...one of the ladies began to sing and I usually harmonize when that happens, not cuz, yay, I can harmonize, but becasue there's something about the way the vibration hangs in the air from a harmony that seems to help.  But I couldn't do it all of a sudden.  Couldn't hear the harmony in my head, nothin'.  I took that as, "Just be quiet." So I was.

A number of us ended up just standing on her front porch praying, then the lady came out and told us this story...

"The other morning I was heading out of my driveway to work when I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a shadow walk across the front porch.  I threw the car into park and turned around.  It stood there for some time, just the black out line of a man.  I blinked and it vanished."

It seems her son, who is currently in prison, made the porch his main hang out while at home.   I think when he lef,t one of his spritual oppressors stayed behind.  All I know is at the end of the evening, instead of a shadow man on the porch you could sense an angel.  And I could harmonize again.  And the lady says her house feels like home. Well, Praise the Lord!

Some other incidents unrelated to my church:  10 people reported a UFO hovering over the Gulf of Mexico last Wednesday, but as far as I can tell it's remained a local story.

On a local call-in show I heard a woman caller say she keeps hearing something walk the steps in her house.  I don't know if that's a ghost or lack of medication, but its not somethng you usually hear around this place.

A giant section of my city used to be a graveyard.  Slaves, settlers, all sorts of  plots marked and unmarked, were plowed under when the first housing developmets went up. (Yeah, just like Poltregeist!  Aren't we lucky!) The other day a guy, while digging a barbecue pit in his backyard, found more remains from the old graveyard days. Aside from being glad I don't live in that part of town, (Hmmm... I wonder if the call-in lady does?) I had to wonder, Why?  Why did more turn up right now?  Yeah, I've officially quit believing in accidents.

There's just such a general sense of something wicked this way comes down here.  Anyone else going through this?

Two weeks ago we were praying at a house where the owner said she felt like she wanted protection outside of her home.

Inside, the  house itself exuded peace. I wanted to just stay there, y'know? But we went outside to pray for protection and about 20 minutes into it, I turned around and looked at this one particular tree.  She had several in the yard. Except when I looked at the other trees, none of them felt like they were looking back.   It was half weird/half funny.  Cuz, you know, a tree?  This tree felt angry.  Like if it could, it would yank its roots out of the ground, stomp over and step on me.

Not a common emotion to sense from a plant, right?

I kept looking around. The other trees were nice and normal.  But, I thought, What the heck, and statrted prayng for the crazy thing.  However,  as I did,  I'm thinking, "Larry the Cumcumber and the Angry Vegetation."

Then another lady came around a corner of the house and I stopped her.

"Hey, what do you think of this tree?"

She statred at it a moment. "My only thought is, 'Green Reaper.'"  So we both started praying and she added that she could feel her wrists burning slightly.

It really did seem dumb, but I couldn't shake that sense of anger coming from it and  stayed there, praying, until I couldn't sense it anymore.

The homeowner asked later how everything went.  We said we didn't get anything at all strange from the house, but that we told her about the tree and showed her which one.  The lady freaked.  She told us ten days earlier, a robber hid in it's branches.  The police hauled him down, cuffed him, and what terrified the lady the most was the guys rage. He didn't stop shrieking and cursing the entire time.

I only mention it to tell you that maybe some of the things that cross your mind aren't imagination.

It seems like there are more strange things happening right now, or maybe we're simply more aware. I don't know.

But how about you guys?  How's your town doing with haunted places?
