The vote was 212 to 219. These wastes of space just took a huge step towards destroying the country.  They should hear from all of us, but especially if you live in their state.

And let your own congressman know you are not happy.  Tell them good luck finding a job next year. If you don't know how to contact them, here is a directory:

The last thing we need is energy independence, renewable energy jobs, and a system that punishes companies for polluting the environment. Even Krugman and the other economists say this won't even reach normal Americans, and poorer Americans will get help with energy bills.

Maybe stop just echoing GOP talking points, and maybe spend some time talking about alternatives because NO to everything is just going to make the GOP even less attractive to the under-30's who worship Obama (they're not going to just "go away" for the next oh- 20 elections).
Sorry but this whole site is just a little to dittohead (aka cult-like) for me- what's this doing around "intense christian entertainment" anyway except serving as another mouthpiece for the same GOP that trashed our economy and our reputation around the world).
The NO Party

I agree 100% that the Republicans are spending way too much time protesting and not enough promoting alternative plans. Both parties have been doing a poor job. I personally would like to see an end to the dominance of the two-party system.

I've personally discussed alternatives in previous articles, with my focus being on nuclear energy, cleaning up black soot, and preparing for potential issues with the solar cycle.

Now I'm saddened that being against outrageous Congressional spending has become merely a "GOP talking point"...a sad state of affairs indeed. Having a similar opinion does not make one a "dittohead" or "cult-like", which is an unnecessary insult. I will not allow comments on ICE to devolve into the drivel seen on many blogs. Keep your comments insightful, clean, and filled with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

As for why ICE is bringing up politics, see this article:

http://www.icepowered.com/Blogs/ICE-Core/ICE-and-Politics.html

Also, ICE itself does not have a political position. The writers have a diverse set of opinions, but obviously Merry and Andrew have chosen to focus on politics lately. The writers come up with their ideas independent of any editorial oversight. I do not know what or who informs their opinions. If someone wants to discuss the positives of this bill they're free to (for example, 3000 temporary jobs in CA and 1400 in FL, along with long-term maintenance).

Last, politics seems to be dominating the front page lately. I would not mind seeing more entertainment-focused articles. Or at least some discussion of topics not dominating TV talk shows.

Two things... I agree with Patrick that politics quickly becomes over-bearing and dull and will gladly step away for a bit, but before I do...when did common sense become cult-like and a GOP talking point?

You want to point fingers at the origins of our current problem and you'll have to point a lot farther back than the Bush administration. And if Bush's tax and spend attitudes were wrong and devastating to the country, then how can that make Obama's spending trillions of dollars better? I've even had Liberals tell me that the more we spend right now in government money, the quicker the economy will get back on track. Huh? Let's see...if I've over spent on my credit card, all I have to do is spend more then it will all be okay?

Somehow, on a national level common sense is not supposed to apply.

And how on earth can anyone truly be an expert on what's in this bill? I heard a report today that they haven't even finished writing the damn thing...and our congress is voting on it.
How stupid are we to put with this? And what happened to the promise Obama made to post every bill for five days before voting on it? I guess he lied.

Politicians do that a lot, you know.

Of course Intense people are going to discuss this...what were you expecting? Meek little lambs who go along with what's popular? Sorry.

I do hope a third party comes along, one not run by the usual gang of idiots..but I'm not holding my breath.

On to bigger and better things...
