Left Behind Games recently released a 60 second trailer for their upcoming title Rise of the Anti-Christ.
Unfortunately, it continues with the status quo of portraying Christians as only being Christ-like if clean-shaven, wearing knit sweaters, and sporting an acoustic guitar...electric is of the devil, you know. In previous games rockers joined forces with the Anti-Christ.
That had me laughing...
What would have been funnier is if the gang had been comprised of clean-cut pretty boy jocks picking on some emo kid with a skull-sticker-covered guitar. Instead of heavenly light blasting down, simple love would have been the weapon.
Now I have no commentary on the gameplay. The first game quite frankly was horrible. But I have not played the 2nd which have may have fixed the majority of the issues from the first game. So it's possible that gameplay wise Rise of the AntiChrist may be a good RTS.
I just do not appreciate their social commentary embedded into the game in the form of stereotypes. What type of message is it to say that because you enjoy a different fashion style or genre of music that you are inherently opposed to Christ?

???
C'mon Patrick, by now you should know that independent thinking and ESPECIALLY non-standard dress is the surest sign of eternal depravity. ;)
OK, silly sterotypes aside I really don't understand what that ad could possibly mean or have to do with the antichrist. It just didn't make any sense...

Not sure how it'll be in the new one but in the first game musician units would have a circular area effect represented by a white light. So it's just portraying what the game is like.
