They're back! On November 22, 2011, the former ska band announced their return after hyping up, rather ambiguously, the exciting news for many months. They planned to raise $30,000 to record a new album in 2012 for a 2013 release and ended up meeting that goal within the first hour of announcing the Kickstarter campaign! Now, as this goes to print, fans have pledged over $165,000 and the number just keeps rising. Jesusfreakhideout.com's Scott Fryberger caught up with the band's saxaphone player, Leanor (AKA "Jeff The Girl") Till to discuss what she's been up to and the band's grand return...

A friend of mine posed this thought on Facebook recently: "I decided to look up whether or not miracle-workers were a dime a dozen in Jesus' time and they were. I assume that the secular historian really only focused on the heavy hitter like the Egyptian (Acts 21:38 and Josephus). The people that cause really loud political problems. Jesus made it a point not to let the people make him king. Anyways that's a thought."
A good book on this subject is "Jesus Outside the New Testament" by Van Voorst. My personal opinion is that there likely existed further documentation but these were purposefully destroyed or lost due to neglect.

To celebrate the release of Adam's Venture: Solomon's Secret I will be giving out a copy of the first episode, The Search for the Lost Garden. To win all you have to do is write a 500+ word essay describing how you think gaming can, or has, improved the world. The subject matter can be broad in scope, not just covering how the story or gameplay influences individuals, but also covering how the technology, laws, corporate environment, and anything else you can think of influences society as a whole. Feel free to include picture or video links to enhance your points.
To enter, email me the essay along with your mailing address to pfrye@icepowered.com . I'll announce the winner in about 2-4 weeks time (aka as soon as I have decent number of entries). I'll also publish the best essays over a period of time.

Been a fan of Becoming the Archetype since their first album, Terminate Damnation. They're posting some vids on Youtube of their upcoming album, Celestial Completion. I like the new mix of sounds and vocals.

I was a fan (not a fanboy, mind you) of Android before it was even available on a smartphone. Just from the early descriptions by Google I know it'd eventually take over the smartphone market. Gartner reported that Android as an operating system grew 888.8% in 2010 and is now in the number two position worldwide.
Symbian OS is usually used on cheaper phones from Nokia, etc. The platform is also growing rapidly in its number of apps. But what to do after gloating over your shiny new toy? Optimize it, of course.

What does it take to become the people we were meant to be? That's the huge existential question Christian hard rock act RED hits head-on with Until We Have Faces.
Tipping the hat to the similarly titled work by C.S. Lewis, RED's third album wades into the messy business of brokenness and redemption. Accordingly, themes of deceit and truth, shame and forgiveness, woundedness and wholeness all factor heavily onto an 11-song effort that the band says focuses on our "search for true identity."
