Hello everyone! The Alpha Jan here actually posting something on a Friday. I hope you are all enjoying your weekends now since it is officially the beginning of the weekend. I just checked out the WWE website and found out that their next pay-per-view titeld Hell in a Cell will be held this coming Sunday, Octobery 4, 2009. How respectable that they have The Undertaker promoted for this event since he has been in more Hell in a Cell matches than anyone else.

Hello everyone! It has been awhile since I put something up here on ICE. Boss man has me doing so much and I am extremely busy. Wait till later when I get business cards, t-shirts, and even promotional-exclusive wear done. Now what do I mean when I say promotional-exclusive wear? Think about an ICE t-shirt made promoting one of our artists. Think about a mug promoting Practical Futilities. Think about a cap promoting Aziena Zen. Think about a pair of shorts promoting Console Alliance. Things like that. Also, the other reason I haven’t been blogging as much was my pay as in I wasn’t getting my pay through. Something went wrong with my account but that has been fixed. If I have everything going my way, you – the readers, the supporters, the fans which we here at ICE affectionately call our Icicles – will be getting a special article AND a media-type review every day of the work week. Meaning a guaranteed article and review for each day, Monday through Friday, brought to you by The Alpha Jan. Well let’s hope I get so much to keep you all interested since most of our writers are M.I.A. or P.O.S. (Prisoners of School).

AFO10

On Saturday, August 1st of 2009, I had the honor of attending The Anime Festival Orlando 10. It seems that this year was the decade year of a lot of conventions and shows. Now this festival was actually a big improvement from the fail-con known as JACON 10: Endgame. I guess JACON wasn’t so big because it was going to be the last JACON ever. The people behind the convention were moving on to different things, having different ideas, and trying out new perspectives. Alas, JACON was no longer a top priority to those who ran the convention. Even though JACON was a fail-con, I had a lot of fun. I never had been to a JACON before so being able to attend at least one before they close their doors forever was all-inspiring and fun. Not to mention, this is the only convention/show/festival/etc. that both my boss Patrick and his wife Heather have attended so far. Now the AFO 10 was ten times more awesome and there were just so many people all into anime, video games, Japanese art, and so much more. I took my baby step-sister along for the ride since she loves anime even though she is a big Yaoi fanatic. (Yaoi is gay anime and manga if you didn’t know!) Once we bought are tickets, she disappeared into the crowd and I didn’t see her for four hours. I am kind of surprised at that because this festival was held in a very big hotel but it is no convention center. How she eluded me for almost four hours is amazing.

Como estas mis amigos! El Alpha Jan aqui y estoy bien porque fue de Jacon! It was awesome for what it was and even though it was considered to be the biggest anime convention on the East Coast, it was quite small actually. I had fun though and I wasn't disappointed since disappointment is just a weak emotion you know what I'm saying? Anyways, Jacon 2009: ENDGAME was held at the Ramada Inn Convention Center. Little note for all of you who don't know how conventions work. Just take note that most conventions held at hotel convention rooms and centers are usually small or not as big as per say an actually county convention center. Anyways, this time was kind of special because Patrick, my boss and everyone else's boss who works here, went along this time. He hasn't been at a convention in a long time and to him, I am sure he was disappointed. I am expecting the infamous engineering line of "The problem is..." to be coming from him any day soon. Also, the boss's wife Heather came along and she dressed up at Sakura from the Naruto Series. So all in all, this convention was fun.

Now I have to admit that people from previous conventions I been to were absent. Even my friend Jackie, who said she would be there, wasn't seen. I didn't even get to see Kandie from Cosplaydeviants since she was working the Hentai Cafe and that starts at 11PM. I didn't stay around that long to see her. Actually, the convention was so small, we only stayed about two to two in a half hours. That is short for a convention. Now if we rented a room, which I wanted to do in the beginning, then we could have stayed in the roomand gone out at different intervals of time to see the events. It's alright though. I had fun and I found more people to add to the list of advertising so here are the companies, artists, or groups down below who stood out the most at Jacon 2009: ENDGAME.

Capcom Entertainment is holding a nationwide launch party for Resident Evil 5 at all participating GameStop locations. Patrick and The Alpha Jan will both be attending the one at GameStop located in the Melbourne Square Mall in Melbourne, Florida. We will be getting fan interaction as well as updated information on what the special game release information will be. People are thinking it will be Dead Rising 2 or the Wii-remakes of original Resident Evil Series Games. Whatever it may be, Patrick and The Alpha Jan will find out soon on Friday the 13th when it hits exactly midnight.

If you live or live near San Francisco, you can attend the official launch party held by Capcom. Anyways, we hope to meet some Icicles at the launch party IcePowered will attend.

Christian Game Developers Conference 2008

PDF Print E-mail
Written by Patrick
Sunday, 22 June 2008 20:09

The Association of Christian Entertainment Presents:

The date for CGDC 08 is July 24-26, 2008.

Cascade College in Portland.

Make Plans Now!

Online Registration will open in early June
If you'd like to nominate or volunteer to give a speech or lead a workshop, Email us.

The Christian Game Developers Conference is the only gathering with the purpose of encouraging game developers, in both software and traditional mediums, to apply Christian principles to their industry. Some developers are involved in creating games made specifically to glorify God. Others work for secular companies and are Godly influences at their place of employment. But wherever they are, they need encouragement to stand up for morality and truth in an industry that can often be fighting these ideals - and the CGDC is a great place to get that encouragement.

In addition to the inspirational messages, there are also talks and workshops on topics from game design to business marketing to QA processes. At no other conference in the world can you walk out from a message on integrating Christian concepts with games and into a workshop on particle physics, hear a debate on interactive storytelling that hinges on the issues of freewill vs. predestination, or find yourself philosophizing late at night with five different Christian game designers from three different countries. And you certainly can't find anything else like it for the price.
