Nappy: Have you guys played against many other bands?
Matt: We haven’t been playing (shows) in gyms recently. We play bouche ball with other bands, less contact and chance of injury.
Nappy: What would you want to compete in against some other bands?
Matt: Honestly, I think ultimate Frisbee might be my game! I’m a pretty good runner and I can throw a Frisbee like it’s my second job.
Nappy: You’re new album…
Matt: Forget and Not Slow Down. The first song is also called Forget and Not Slow Down. And for context the lyric is “I’d rather forget and not slow down than gather regrets for things I can’t change now.” That’s pretty much the creed of the record.
Nappy: How would you compare this album to your past albums?
Matt: Musically it’s less pop punk. It’s more of an up-tempo rock record. I was basically in a relationship for four years with a girl and we broke up right before I wrote the record. It’s a lot about that and trying to deal with it in a positive way.
Nappy: What dating advice would you have for the singles out there?
Matt: Well, the whole thing is kind of weird and screwed up. You start dating someone and they change into someone else or you can change. All these things happen, there is a strange x-factor when you put two people together you really never know what’s going to happen. Being careful and having foresight are probably two good things keep in mind.
Nappy: You guys are from the Cleveland area, right?
Matt: Yea, huge Browns and Cavs fan.
Nappy: What are you guys going to do to keep Lebron James?
Matt: Hopefully win the championship this year and then I don’t know. It would nice to win the whole thing for the Cavs and then if he has to move on, he has to move on. He’s the just the greatest player, maybe ever so I’m willing to share him if we have to.
