Rich Franklin cornered the man who challenged him and launched a looping kick that caught him on his jaw. The man's face flushed red, and his knees wobbled. Franklin moved in, pounding his opponent with haymakers until he collapsed, grimacing.
Franklin, an Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight, had just scored another victory. The chiseled fighter took the ringside microphone and faced the roaring crowd.
"I want to say thanks to God, all praise to him," he said. Then he bowed and folded his hands in prayer as his groggy opponent was led outside the ring.
Was it Franklin's right hand or was it the hand of God that helped him smite his opponent? Ringside viewers may disagree, but God seems to be standing in the corner of a lot of victorious athletes these days.
University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow won U.S. college football's highest honour recently. If his mother had followed her doctor's advice when she was carrying him, he would be just another abortion statistic.
Tim's parents, Bob and Pam Tebow, moved to the Philippines in 1985 to conduct a Christian missionary outreach. While pregnant with Tim, Pam contracted amoebic dysentery through contaminated drinking water. Her doctor told her that the medications she needed to recover would result in irreversible damage to the child she was carrying. She was advised to have an abortion.
A guy named Jean-Yves Blondeau invented a 31 wheeled rollerblading suit which is like rollerblading and street luge. It allows the person to rollerblade no matter what position they are in.
Now I ran into this contraption while on my 8 day cruise in the eastern Carribean. While it turns out this suit is several years old I'm excited now...I want one! Although, I'd also have to take a vacation outside of Florida to anywhere with hills. That suit would be kinda useless down here.
Hello everyone and yes the title is correct! I, The Alpha Jan, is doing a review on an exercise program. Now some of you might now I am a junkie when it comes to health. GNC is my toystore when usually for most guys, their toystore is either Best Buy or Home Depot. I feel at home surrounded by workout supplements, protein powders, health pills, and shaker cups. Nevertheless, I am on a voyage to get back to being thin and tonned again like I used to be when I was a lot younger. Nevertheless, I am well on my way. So far, I lost over thirty pounds but seriously though. I don't mind not losing weight if it was being turned into muscle mass. Big difference between just losing weight and gaining health you know.
So what is P90X exactly? P90X is actually shorthand or probably an acronym for Power 90 Extreme. This is a 90 day workout system that should show results every thirty days for ninety days. The science in P90X is called "muscle confusion". When working out, most people see results then they see absolutely nothing. This is called the plateau effect and it happens when your body gets used to workouts. P90X remedies this effect by changing the exercises every thirty days thus introducing your body to new moves and sometimes harder workouts thus the results come in and they come in fast. If you just bring it to your best which is what the "X" stands for because the "X" is actually a variable different for each person, then you will see results.
My first experience with artificial rock climbing was at a Navy Seals training ground in Germany. I was 11 at the time and I had to get special permission to join a group mostly composed of high-schoolers. I think they kind of viewed me as their cute little mascot or something...

White on Liddell’s future: ‘He’s done’
MONTREAL – When Chuck Liddell, the biggest star in Ultimate Fighting Championship history, left the Bell Centre cage on Saturday night, the reaction was no different than many of his greatest wins. He got a lengthy standing ovation from a sold-out arena.
“We had a two-hour meeting in Las Vegas,” White said about the agreement the two made shortly after Liddell’s loss to Rashad Evans on Sept. 6 in Atlanta. “I wanted him to retire, but he wanted one more shot. I made a series of guidelines. He had to train hard. He had to change up his training. He had to stay out of the night clubs. He did all that. He came here in great shape and went out like the stud that he is. If he had won a decision, this still would have been it. Anything less than an impressive win was going to be it. Yeah, we can still make money with him, but that’s not what it’s about here.”
The news reporter missed the point. Boxing is infamous for forcing fighters into fights the contestant is unprepared for.
Hazel Warp {married name of Hazel Hash} is the person who got me started in extreme sports. Hazel Warp is Hazel Hash in the credits of Gone With the Wind. Hazel Warp did stunts for Vivian Leigh. It was the scene where Scarlett fell down the stairs that got me hooked on "daredevils" as my parents called stunt men. I was amazed at the distance Hazel Warp fell down those stairs and knew there had to be some trick to it. I asked questions and got everything I could read about stunts. Eventually I learned how to fall down stairs and practiced regularly in our two story house when mom was not home. Hazel Hash changed my life!
