Earlier last year, Microsoft had storage transfer devices as well as the bigger 250G harddrive now available at a cheaper price. This was only the beginning as NXE, the official name of the big Xbox Live update, now supported keeping saved games and even achievements online at the Microsoft Xbox Website. However, both were just minor because one was based on purchasing a product that was only exclusive in use with Microsoft and though useful for a gamer may not be top priority and the other is a service that was available if you paid $70 for a whole year and to some, that is money best used for other endeavors.

The flash drive update was a blessing for now it seems Microsoft has finally implemented an update on something that a lot of people now have.
USB flash drives are very common now taking place of burning CDs and storing stuff online. Why many handheld peripherals utilize USB storage now such as phones and even music players of many kinds. This however is old technology and Microsoft not using this technology for the longest time in my honest opinion is an urr in judgment. Nevertheless, the USB flash drive update corrects some issues such as transferring saves between systems through the drive. Before, Microsoft had memory cards but those things didn’t have enough space to hold the amount of information needed for a save file on the X360 thus they were a cost and utterly useless to most people. Flash USB drives can go up to 5 gigs now and cost less than $20 depending where you get them. Why you can get 1 gig flash USB drives for free from some places.
Still I find this update to be a good step towards a direction in which Microsoft has been ignoring for awhile now. There are two more steps I am thinking they need to take (Blu-ray compatibility and 3D firmware updates) but that will be covered in another article later on.
